About Us
Whaling City Lawns is a locally owned and operated lawn care and property maintenance company serving residential and commercial properties throughout New Bedford and surrounding areas.
Service Terms
All services are performed based on the current condition of the property and the scope of work agreed upon with the customer.
Pricing may vary depending on:
- Lawn size
- Terrain and accessibility
- Property condition
- Debris volume
- Additional requested services
Whaling City Lawns reserves the right to adjust pricing if actual site conditions differ from the original estimate.
Estimates & Quotes
All estimates are free and non-binding until approved by both parties.
Quotes are based on visible property conditions at the time of inspection or information provided by the customer. Additional charges may apply if undisclosed conditions or unexpected obstacles are discovered during service.
Payment Policy
Card on File Authorization
A valid credit or debit card is required to remain on file for all recurring or scheduled services.
By scheduling service with Whaling City Lawns, the customer authorizes Whaling City Lawns to charge the card on file for:
- Completed services
- Recurring lawn maintenance
- Outstanding balances
- Approved additional services
- Applicable late fees
Payments are typically processed after service completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Invoices are due upon receipt unless alternative payment terms have been approved in writing.
Accounts with overdue balances may be subject to:
- Late fees
- Service interruption
- Cancellation of recurring service
Returned payments or declined cards may result in additional processing fees.
Scheduling & Weather Policy
Service dates and arrival times are estimates and may change due to:
- Weather conditions
- Equipment issues
- Traffic delays
- Unsafe working conditions
- Other unforeseen circumstances
Whaling City Lawns will make reasonable efforts to communicate schedule changes promptly.
Property Access & Preparation
Customers are responsible for ensuring safe and reasonable access to the property on the scheduled service date.
Customers must:
- Remove pet waste, toys, hoses, wires, and personal items from service areas
- Clearly mark invisible fences, sprinkler heads, septic systems, underground utilities, or other hidden obstacles
- Secure pets during service
Whaling City Lawns is not responsible for damage caused by unmarked or concealed hazards.
Liability Disclaimer
Whaling City Lawns is not liable for:
- Pre-existing property damage
- Damage to improperly marked underground systems or hidden objects
- Normal wear to grass caused by wet conditions, drought, or disease
- Minor debris displacement from mowing or trimming operations
- Delays caused by weather or unsafe working conditions
Customers assume responsibility for notifying Whaling City Lawns of any known hazards or special property conditions before service begins.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Whaling City Lawns’ liability shall be limited to the total amount paid for the specific service provided.
Satisfaction Policy
If a customer is dissatisfied with completed work, concerns must be reported within 24–48 hours of service completion.
Whaling City Lawns will make reasonable efforts to address legitimate service-related concerns. Refunds are not guaranteed.
Cancellations
Recurring service customers may pause or cancel service with reasonable notice prior to the next scheduled visit.
Same-day cancellations or blocked property access may be subject to a cancellation fee.
Photos & Marketing
Whaling City Lawns may photograph completed work for quality control, training, or marketing purposes. No personally identifiable customer information or house numbers will be intentionally disclosed without permission.
Customers may request in writing that their property not be photographed for marketing use.
Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
